The Prime Minister said that Dhankhar has excellent knowledge of the Constitution
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has been named as the vice-president candidate of the BJP-led NDA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said on Saturday that he is well versed in legislative matters and would make an excellent Speaker in the Rajya Sabha. Modi also said that Dhankhar has brought with him an illustrious legal, legislative and governor career and has always worked for the betterment of farmers, youth, women and marginalized people.
“Farmer son Jagdeep Dhankhar ji is known for his humility. He has brought with him an illustrious legal, legislative and governor career. He has always worked for the betterment of farmers, youth, women and marginalized people. Glad That he will be our VP candidate,” Modi said in a tweet. The prime minister said Dhankhar has excellent knowledge of the Constitution.
“He is also well versed in legislative matters. I am sure he will be an excellent Speaker in the Rajya Sabha and will guide the proceedings of the House with the aim of furthering national progress,” Modi said. Earlier in the day, Dhankhar had met Prime Minister Modi. He also met Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
