Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who is gearing up for her next release, in which she shares screen space with veteran actors like Renuka Shahane and Anant Mahadevan, feels that TV actors have been discriminated against forever, and his recent statement Hina Khan At the Cannes Film Festival testified to this fact. Talking to IANS, Devoleena said, “There are two things… one is what we ask to be politically correct, and the other is what we actually practice. He explained how such thoughts become worrying for many new actors as they fear that joining the TV industry as an actor may adversely affect their career.

“It becomes difficult to find opportunities for actors like me who have no background in the film and entertainment industry. Many people wait instead to work in TV shows, as they fear that they may not get a chance to work in the future. Will get. In a Bollywood film,” she said.

“Initially this happened to me too, but then I realized that either I choose acting which gives me unlimited opportunities in multiple mediums, or I choose to be a Bollywood actor and reduce my chances as a rising star. I chose the first one, explained the “Saath Nibhana Saathiya” actress.

Currently, Devoleena is excited about her next release, which is a short film titled ‘First Second Chance’ directed by Lakshmi R Iyer.

The film also stars Nikhil Sangha, Sahil Uppal, Anant Mahadevan and Renuka Shahane. In the film, Devoleena plays the younger version of Renuka’s character named ‘Vaidehi’.

The short film is set for release on June 5 on Disney+Hotstar.
