Jr NTR’s highly anticipated film ‘Devara’ may not hit theaters this coming April. Buzz is that the makers are narrowing down on a new release date, preferably for the latter half of 2024, owing to VFX work. The film will also star Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in key roles.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Devara will not be released on April 5 anymore. A source close to the production house shared, “Devara is a high-end VFX film, and the output is taking longer than expected. The makers are clear about not compromising on the visuals, as the stakes are high. NTR Jr. is also very cautious about next after RRR and wants to deliver a big cinematic experience. The makers are now looking to arrive in the second half of 2024.”

A reliable insider connected to the project has clarified that the delay in Devara is not a result of Saif’s injury. “Saif has successfully wrapped up filming for the movie. Instead, the delay is attributed to the ongoing efforts of the filmmakers in perfecting the VFX and music aspects,” the source added.

Earlier this year, the makers released the much-awaited teaser for the film. The video opens with a Jr. NTR fighting scene. He is seen dressed as a village man who is fighting with goons. The night scene does not show everyone’s face clearly, but it is surely an intense, gripping scene.

Devara is set against the coastal lands and is helmed by Koratala Siva. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s debut in South films and her first-ever collaboration with Jr. NTR. Just like RRR, this Telugu movie will reportedly have high-octane action sequences that are expected to blow away the minds of the audience. As per reports, Devara is being made on a huge budget. The makers are reportedly spending a whopping Rs 140 crore on its VFX. The rumour mill is rife that the makers are also spending 33 percent of the movie’s original budget on special effects.
