Despite the pandemic, a large number of applications for the West Bengal College Teacher Examination

More than two-thirds of the 83 thousand candidates registered for the 23rd State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) appeared for the exam on Sunday. A WBCSC official said that this year was the first offline public examination after WBJEE was conducted last year.

The exam was conducted strictly following the COVID norms in 189 centers across 68 subdivisions of the state and Kolkata. “Despite the current pandemic situation, more than two-thirds of the total registered candidates wrote their papers this year,” said Deepak Kar, president, WBCSC. SET exam is conducted to select assistant professors for state-run and state-aided colleges. The commission is expected to publish the result within three months.
