New Delhi: Electricity regulator DERC Announcing the new tariff without any rate hike for Delhi on Thursday, it said it did not see any “good reason” to do so.

It has also kept a levy of regulatory asset surcharge 8 percent unchanged in 2021-22. In Delhi, a surcharge is levied on the consumers of electricity distribution companies.
There has been no major increase in electricity rates in Delhi since the Aam Aadmi Party came to power in 2015. Leaders of the ruling party claim that electricity rates in the city are the “cheapest” in the country.
