Dengue death toll rises to 31 in Rajasthan, cases cross 13,000 Jaipur News – Times of India

Jaipur: With three more deaths in the last five days (November 4 to 8), dengue The toll has gone up to 31 in the state so far. The number of cases has also increased to 13,059. In 2019, when the state recorded 13,709 dengue cases, it was the largest outbreak in a decade. In 2021, dengue outbreak is set to surpass 2019 figures.
In five days (November 4 to November 8), the state added 1,146 more cases, taking the total number to 13,059. During the same period, three more deaths were reported from dengue, taking the death toll in 2021 to 31.

Jaipur, City And Jodhpur and Alwar are among the districts that have reported 496 new dengue cases from November 4 to 8, accounting for 43% of the total cases reported in the same period.
The health department teams are focusing on the districts where more dengue cases are being reported. Despite the intense activities, vector borne menace still persists in various parts of the state. However, health officials claimed that dengue cases have started declining and are no longer being reported in the numbers that were being reported a few days back.
A health department official said that they are conducting anti-larval activities and also taking measures to check the breeding of mosquitoes.
The health department is also expanding its facilities for dengue diagnosis. The health teams are also taking blood samples of people suffering from fever by going door-to-door in areas marked as highly vulnerable areas for dengue. Timely treatment is essential to prevent complications and for this, separate orders have been issued by the Health Department to collect blood samples of people suffering from fever during door-to-door survey.
