A 38-year-old woman was arrested on charges of conspiring to abduct herself to extort money from her brother, police said on Thursday.
According to the police, a complainant was received at Mehrauli police station on Wednesday in which the man said that his sister has been kidnapped and he is receiving extortion calls and messages from her phone number.
Police said he also told that the kidnappers had also sent him a picture of his sister, in which she was strangled and her hands were tied.
A senior police officer said that during investigation, the police visited the complainant’s house and checked the CCTV footage of the area where they found that the woman had left her house on Tuesday.
The official said the mobile phone of the victim was found to be switched off and it was available only on WhatsApp through which the ‘alleged kidnappers’ were communicating.
Technical analysis revealed the location of the phone to Agra.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) M Harsh Vardhan told that they found the woman in Agra.
The woman told the police that she was going through financial constraints and to meet the need of money, she herself planned the kidnapping and demanded a ransom from her brother in return for release.
He tied his hand with a rope and strangled himself. Vardhan said that he converted his voice to male voice with the help of an app and sent it to his brother for ransom, Vardhan said, adding that the woman was brought to Delhi and arrested under relevant sections of the law for extortion. to be done.
