Delhi Woman, 35, Stabbed To Death By Assassins Hired By 71-Yr-Old Husband

New Delhi: A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by two contract killers hired by her 71-year-old husband on Wednesday, police said. The incident took place in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden area at around 2.30 pm, he said.
Police reached the spot and found the woman dead. He had multiple knife wounds on his body. A senior police officer said that during interrogation it was revealed that the victim was married to SK Gupta in November last year. Investigation revealed that Gupta had married the woman thinking that she would take care of his son Amit (45), who is physically challenged and also suffers from cerebral palsy, but this did not happen. So, Gupta decided to seek divorce but his wife demanded Rs. 1 crore to divorce him, she said. He wanted to get rid of the woman at any cost, but did not want to bow down to her demand.

According to the police, Gupta came in contact with the accused Vipin who used to take his son Amit to the hospital. He along with his son conspired with Vipin to kill his wife. He promised Rs 10 lakh to Vipin to kill him and also gave Rs 2.40 lakh as advance.

As per the plan, the accused Vipin and his associate went to the house of Himanshu Gupta and stabbed the woman. Both the accused also received injuries. The officer said that in order to mislead the police, they ransacked the house and took away the mobile phones of the victim and Amit to show it as a robbery incident.
The officer said that Amit was present in the house at the time of the murder.

Based on the investigation, four accused SK Gupta, his son Amit and two contract killers Vipin Sethi (45) and Himanshu (20) were arrested in connection with the incident. He has accepted his role in the crime. Police said efforts are on to recover the phones, bloodstained clothes and scooter used in the crime.
