Delhi To Face Severe Water Crisis, No Fund Supply To Delhi Jal Board: Atishi

There may be a severe water crisis in the national capital. Delhi Minister Atishi on Tuesday asserted that people of Delhi face difficulty as there will be a shortage in the water supply.

Atishi alleged that Finance Secretary Ashish Verma stopped releasing funds of the Jal Board from August. She further said that the Finance Secretary of Delhi has not released any funds in spite of a written order of the Finance Minister.

Due to this, salary could not been distributed to the workers and thus they refused to work. Not only workers, but contractors are also refusing to work.

There may be severe water shortage, dirty water and sewer overflow in many areas in the coming days.

This is an emergency like situation. Water Minister Atishi appealed to LG for an immediate intervention to combat the crisis.
