Delhi Schools To Reopen From November 20 But There’s a Condition

New Delhi: Schools were shut in Delhi upto class 11th in view of the worsening AQI in the capital city. After the imposition of GRAP 4, students of classes Nursery to 9th and 11th were directed to attend online classes. However, now, considering the current AQI that has improved to get down from the bracket of 322 to 450, all the schools in Delhi have been ordered to resume physical classes with effect from November 20, i.e. Monday.

However, even after school starts, there will be no outdoor sports activities or morning assemblies for one week.

Schools in Delhi were closed for a winter break much before winter arrived due to depreciating air quality that led to many health issues. Schools remained closed from November 9 to November 18 due to severe air quality.

Air quality in Delhi-NCR isn’t good even today and it seems like residents of the capital region should either adapt to it or be ready to be prone to a dozen respiratory diseases.

The AQI that permits school children to attend physical classes is still a worse quality. Stubble burning or firecrackers, whatever may be the reason, all that’s evident is people suffering from different diseases and politicians playing a blame game and holding meetings.

Notably, the AQI dropped to a worse category on November 2, much before Diwali and to defend firecrackers in the name of festivals, many leaders busted firecrackers on Diwali night.
