Days after a bomb threat was received through email at Delhi Public School Mathura Road, the police on Monday said that the threat was allegedly sent “for fun” by a student of the same school.

Police said that after investigation, they found out that a minor was behind the false bomb threat and the person confessed to making the threat during interrogation.

According to a report in NDTV, the 16-year-old student planned the prank “just for fun” after a false threat at ‘The Indian School’ in Delhi’s Sadiq Nagar gave the student the idea.

The school received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Rajesh Deo had said in a statement that the threat was received on the official email address of the school administration and the police was informed around 8 am.

The incident prompted the transfer of the case to the Special Cell of the Delhi Police. As a result of the incident, 4,000 children were pulled from the school and the entire campus was searched in a state of panic.

Local police personnel, a bomb disposal squad, a dog squad and a SWAT team were immediately dispatched to the spot.

Police had said that a case was registered in connection with the incident under relevant provisions of the IT Act and the Indian Penal Code.

Last month, ‘The Indian School’ experienced a similar incident, where a bomb threat resulted in the evacuation of the premises and a thorough inspection by the bomb squad and other officials, which was eventually revealed to be a hoax. Was declared. At present, the person who executed this incident could not be traced.
