Delhi Receives Moderate Rainfall. IMD Predicts Showers With Thunderstorms In These Areas

New Delhi: The national capital and adjoining areas received moderate rainfall on Friday night. The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms with rainfall over Delhi and NCR, western Uttar Pradesh, parts of Rajasthan and Haryana.

“Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-40 Km/h will occur,” the IMD stated.

In a statement, Vistara said flights UK890 (HYD-DEL) and UK820 (BLR-DEL) were diverted to Amritsar and flight UK834 (MAA-DEL) Was been diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather in Delhi.

The maximum temperature on Friday settled at 27.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season’s average. According to the weather department, the minimum temperature settled at 12.5 degrees Celsius, PTI reported.

The IMD has predicted the possibility of partly cloudy skies with very light rain and thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds on Saturday.

Parts of Delhi and NCR to receive rainfall

Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Ghaziabad, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, and Ballabgarh is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle at 25 and 14 degrees Celsius on Saturday in Delhi.

These places in Haryana might receive rainfall

The IMD predicted light to moderate intensity rainfall over Kaithal, Narwana, Karnal, Fatehabad, Safidon, Panipat, Gohana, Gannaur, Farukhnagar, Sohana, Rewari, Palwal, Bawal, Nuh, Aurangabad, Hodal (Haryana).

Hail precipitation over Nuh and adjoining areas have also been forecasted by IMD.

Major parts of Western Uttar Pradesh likely to receive rainfall

Gangoh, Deoband, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhla, Bijnor, Baraut, Modinagar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar, Jahangirabad, Anupshahar, Shikarpur, Khurja, Pahasu, Debai, Narora, Gabhana, Jattari, Atrauli, Khair, Aligarh are the areas in western Uttar Pradesh that have been predicted to receive rainfall.

Sadulpur, Bhiwari, Tizara areas in Rajasthan have also been mentioned by the IMD in their forecast.
