Delhi: Putin Not To Attend G-20 Summit In Person, Know Why

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be attending the G20 summit in India slated for September in person, informed Kremlin on Friday.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) recently issued an arrest warrant for President Vladimir Putin, alleging his involvement in war crimes within Ukraine. However, the Kremlin vehemently denies these accusations. Consequently, President Putin faces the potential risk of arrest while traveling abroad.

In light of this situation, President Putin participated in a virtual meeting of leaders from the BRICS group of emerging economies held in South Africa this week. Rather than attending in person, he opted for a video link to ensure his safety from the arrest warrant issued by the ICC.
