A Delhi Police source said the notice was served to the Congress MP on Wednesday as he did not meet the police team at his residence here on Tuesday even after waiting for three hours. To provide details about victims of sexual assault who sought protection from them.

Delhi Police sources said, “On March 16, again senior officials went to his residence and after waiting for one and a half hours gave the notice.”

A senior police officer said the notice was issued after the police took cognizance of the social media posts and sent a list of questionnaires.

Delhi Police has issued a notice to Rahul Gandhi to give details about the victims who approached him regarding their sexual harassment. The police have asked them to give details of these victims so that they can be provided security.”

Reacting to the notice, the Congress said in a statement: “The government is shaken by Rahul Gandhi’s questions on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi And Gautam Adani’s relationship is hidden behind his police. After completion of 45 days of Bharat Jodo Yatra, Delhi Police through a notice has sought details of women who met them and talked about harassment and violence.

“We will respond to the notice in due course as per law. This notice is yet another proof that the government is in a panic and their latest attack on democracy, women empowerment, freedom of expression and undermining the role of the opposition.
