The Delhi Police on Saturday said it has arrested former Congress MLA Asif Mohammad Khan for allegedly misbehaving and assaulting employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and obstructing government work in the national capital’s Shaheen Bagh area.

Police said, “A complaint was registered on the complaint of Ram Kishor, Inspector, MCD Lajpat Nagar Zone stating that a man Asif Mohammad Khan misbehaved and assaulted MCD employees and obstructed government work, The police said.

A case under sections 186, 353, 332 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Shaheen Bagh police station.

Further investigation is on in the matter.

Earlier on Friday, a viral video of the former Congress MLA surfaced in which he can be seen thrashing and harassing a group of people after a poster with his picture was removed from outside his residence in Okhla.

In the video, he can be heard abusing people, thrashing them and forcing them to hold their ears while doing squats.
