Delhi Police Detain Juveniles for Gunning Down Man Over Hookah in Vivek Vihar

New Delhi: Three teenagers have been arrested for allegedly killing a person during a quarrel over hookah in East Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area. The police gave this information on Monday (January 30). On January 26, the police received a complaint that a group of boys had thrashed a man and sent him to the hospital. A senior police officer said that CCTV footage of the incident showed that one Surjeet Singh was beaten up and seriously injured during the fight between the two groups. He said the Hedgewar Hospital, where he was taken after the incident, declared him brought dead.

Police identified all the suspects and laid a trap near Arthla in UP’s Ghaziabad on Sunday. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said the three accused tried to flee but were caught after a brief chase.

The accused disclosed that the the fight had begun One of them took hookah from a friend of the victim and refused to pay for it, police said.

At around 8.30 pm on January 26, all three had a fight with Surjeet, fired two rounds at him and fled after stabbing him.

The boys revealed that they had procured the weapons from Baghpat in UP. Police said the gun and knife used in the crime have been seized.
