New Delhi: A 35-year-old man, involved in over 100 cases of snatching and dacoity in the national capital, has been arrested from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur. The police gave this information on Tuesday.
He said a goldsmith, who was the receiver of the snatched chains, has also been arrested.
The accused have been identified as Arjun resident of Ujjain. Jhugi Lal Bagh, and Vishal Verma (22), resident Nand Nagari, said the police.
Arjun was involved in more than 100 cases of snatching and dacoity. He had 52 cases against him even after he was released on bail in April this year.
Police visited places where snatching incidents took place and collected data cctv footage. A senior police officer said that it was later found that in most of the incidents, the snatchers were active in the morning or after 8-10 pm.
The official said that on September 14, information was received that Arjun was going to Gogamedhi Dham in Jodhpur to evade his arrest.

Police said that during interrogation he disclosed his involvement in over 50 cases of snatching and looting of gold chains in Dwarka, West, North West, North and Rohini districts.
He said that a gold chain was also recovered from Verma.
The accused disclosed that he along with his accomplices Ashish, Ajay, Amrish and his brother Sonu had committed snatching and dacoity. Police said they used a high-performance stolen motorcycle or scooter.
He said that he handed over several snatched gold chains to his mother, sister Pooja and brother-in-law Ravi and other relatives. The DCP said that raids were conducted for his family members, but they are absconding.
To divert the police, he used to do snatching by changing the color of stolen motorcycles. Police claimed that 52 cases of snatching, dacoity, motor vehicle theft have been solved in Dwarka, West, Rohini, North West and North districts.
During the Covid-triggered lockdown, Verma came in contact with Arjun and started snatching gold chains from him at 70 per cent market price. Police said five gold chains, three motorcycles and two scooters were recovered from them.
