India assumed the year-long chairmanship of the G20 on 1 December. More than 200 meetings of the G20 will be held in 55 locations across the country and the summit will be held here in September.

In a statement on Saturday, the MCD said, “This year a comprehensive and proactive plan has been envisaged to prevent dengue, which will include sanitisation at G-20 meeting venues, monuments, hotels, shopping malls, famous markets and other places of crowd.” Special attention has been paid.” representatives”.

In this comprehensive plan, one of the AI-based platforms i.e. unmanned aerial vehicle or drone-based vector monitoring and concurrent anti-larval spray activity will be carried out on major drains to prevent breeding of mosquito larvae.

Larval eating fish will be released in water bodies to prevent breeding of mosquito larvae by biological control method. Fogging will be carried out as per NCVBDCP guidelines, whenever required, in an environment-friendly manner keeping in view the orders of the NGT, the statement said.

The department will ensure use of insecticide in rotation to avoid resistance in mosquitoes and larvae. The MCD will pay special attention to meeting places, hotels, monuments, tourist places, shopping malls and famous markets by involving stakeholders to make the area breeding free.

To increase public participation, officers will hold regular dialogues with Resident Welfare Associations, religious leaders, market associations. Coordination meetings of inter-sectoral departments will also be organized to create awareness.

Further multi-tasking staff will ensure door to door visit as per advance schedule for detection of breeding, destruction and creating awareness among general public.

Officials said deputy health officers would identify sensitive colonies and hot spots on the basis of vector indices and cases reported in previous years.

The work of the Home Breeding Testing staff will be directly monitored by circle-charges and the work register will be randomly checked by Entomologist, AMO, Epidemiologist and DHO. If a high breeding index is reported from an area, the entomologist of the area will guide in controlling the vector population.

Entomological labs will be made operational and strengthened to conduct insecticide susceptibility tests randomly. The entomological surveillance reports of the zonal entomological teams will be analyzed by the Entomologist (HQ) and weekly reports will be sent to all the concerned authorities.

Zonal entomologists of all zones will send live samples of mosquitoes to NIMR for detection of dengue and chikungunya virus, the statement said.

Municipal commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said that the action plan to deal with dengue has been made keeping in mind the entire city and special attention will be given to the G-20 summit areas.

This year the MCD will ensure a higher success rate through more intensive control measures. He said that this will benefit us in the coming years as well.
