NEW DELHI: Two persons were arrested on Sunday, while five minors were detained for allegedly robbing Rs 25,000 cash and jewelery from a Delhi house. Mangolpuri on the day of diwali knife tip, said the police.
According to the police, two knives used in the crime and Rs 4500 in cash have been recovered from both the arrested persons. Both the accused have been identified as rough And Rohan.
According to the complainant Geeta, on November 4, around 10 pm, four men armed with knives entered her house just as her family had completed Diwali puja. While three robbers stabbed the woman and her daughters, the fourth accused entered another room and took Rs 20,000, a gold chain, a necklace set, a prayer Thali, a small purse of his daughter containing various documents and Rs 5,000.
Before fleeing, the robbers threatened him of dire consequences if he tried to file a complaint with the police.
The complainant’s daughter alleged that she saw four boys along with three more boys running on the road, who had left their house after committing the crime.
Police said a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered based on the woman’s complaint.
The police conducted raids on Sunday and arrested two accused, who confessed to their crime and were arrested.
According to the police, on continuous interrogation, he revealed that a plan was hatched in Mangolpuri’s Bapu Park with five of his associates.
Police personnel nabbed the five boys from Bapu Park. On enquiry, they were all found to be children in violation of the law (CCL) and have been apprehended.
