Defence: PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Defense Office Complex in Delhi; Central Vista Website Launched | India News – Times of India

Prime minister Narendra Modi inaugurated on Thursday Defense Office Complex At Kasturba Gandhi Marg and Africa Avenue in Delhi.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, head of Defense staff general Bipin Rawat, central minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Army Chief Gen. MM Naravane were also present in the program.
Prime Minister also launched Center View website at Thursday’s event.
The new Defense Office complex will house around 7,000 officers from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces. The buildings will provide modern, safe and functional work spaces. An Integrated Command and Control Center has been established to manage building operations, as well as end-to-end catering for security and monitoring of both buildings.

PM speaks on ‘New India’, Central Vista
“Today Delhi is marching ahead in line with the vision of ‘New India’. These new Defense Office Complexes will now make it possible for our forces to operate in better working conditions with all modern facilities,” the Prime Minister said at the event.
Taking a jibe at those opposing the Central Vista project, PM Modi said: “Today the world is witnessing the grand Central Vista which has been developed with modern technology and facilities to enhance the quality of work for Army officers working 24X7. base has been established.”
He also said that Central Vista will also protect the environment and cultural heritage of Delhi by introducing modern technology.
“Today, when the country is focusing on ‘ease of living’ and ‘ease of doing business’, modern infrastructure plays an essential role. This is the spirit at the core of Central Vista projects,” the PM said.
“Modern Defense Offices will go a long way in effectively carrying out the tasks related to the security of the nation,” he said.
The new Defense Office Complex is state-of-the-art and energy efficient with comprehensive security management measures. One of the defining features of these buildings is the use of new and sustainable construction technology called ‘Light Gauge Steel Frame’, which has reduced the construction time from 24-30 months in case of traditional RCC construction. The buildings use resource-efficient green technology and promote eco-friendly practices.
