Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa also demanded a probe into the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

Rajasthan Congress in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday asked party members to “defeat” Prime Minister Modi if they wanted to get rid of industrialists like Gautam Adani.

Randhawa made the remarks while addressing a protest meeting against the BJP government for not agreeing to form a joint parliamentary committee to probe the allegations made by US firm Hindenburg against the Adani group.

He said, “If you want to remove Adani and Ambani, then first finish Modi…then defeat BJP.”

Everyone is talking about Adani whereas they should be talking about Modi. He is destroying the country and the BJP at the center is selling the country. Randhawa said during the protest, that’s why our fight is not with Adani, but directly with BJP.

Congress demands probe into Pulwama attack

The Congress leader also demanded a probe into the 2019 Pulwama terror attack. He said, ‘Till date it is not known how the soldiers were martyred.’

Responding to the demand, state BJP president Satish Poonia said the Congress was “anti-Army” and what Randhawa said was an insult to the martyrs.

“I think Randhawa’s statement shows the character of the Congress. The statements of Congress leaders prove that they are against the country, against the army, against martyrdom, Poonia said in a statement.

The Congress on Monday held several protests across the country on the Adani-Hindenburg issue.

Congress protest near Jaipur Civil Lines

Ministers, party MLAs and workers from Rajasthan participated in the Jaipur protest held near the gate of Civil Lines Gate.

Randhawa said that PM Modi has brought East India Company in the form of Adani and now businessmen like him are deciding the country’s policy and not the Prime Minister.

Hindenburg Research has accused Adani Group of fraudulent transactions and share-price manipulation.

The Adani group has denied the allegations.

The Congress and some other opposition parties have been demanding the Center to form a joint parliamentary committee to look into the Adani case.

Randhawa also urged the women workers of the party to work towards strengthening the Congress.

He said, “We have to work for the Congress (as a whole), we don’t have to work for any person… The Congress does not run in the name of anyone.” Earlier, targeting the Prime Minister, State President Govind Singh Dotasara said that a special person has cheated the people of the country with his political benefits and election funding.
