However, Deepika once revealed that sometimes she too seems unsure of living up to the audience’s expectations. She feels that all the fans don’t appreciate her when she tries to do something different. Despite her experimenting with her style, people still feel the need to comment on her looks and what she wears.
Addressing this, during a media interaction in 2019, when Deepika was asked who according to her has more fun with outfits between her and husband Ranveer Singh, she said, “I wear a white shirt and blue jeans. and why is everyone so boring, why can’t she try to do something fun. And then when I try to do something funny they say oh now she’s trying to be like her husband. She just needs to keep doing the classic things she always does. what do you want?”
Talking about how Ranveer dresses when Deepika is with his family, he shared, “That (white shirt and blue pants) is his look when he is with my parents. Otherwise he will not be allowed to enter the house. So if it’s a professional commitment and my parents are there then they have to make peace with what they’re wearing. But if it is a specific event, there is a distinct Padukone family wardrobe which is black pants, blue jeans, white crisp shirts, round neck T-shirts. So there’s a black, white, gray palate.
During Dainik Bhaskar Conclave, Deepika revealed that Ranveer is not afraid to experiment with bold prints, vibrant colors and unconventional styles. It is a true reflection of his bold, fearless personality. Her style is fun and often gender-neutral, breaking away from traditional norms. Talking about it, Deepika, who wore a floral, flowy silhouette at the event, said, “He’s going to say ‘mujhe yeh pahen na hai’ after going home today.”
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh met on the sets of Ram Leela in 2013 and sparks flew. They finally tied the knot in November 2018 at the beautiful Lake Como in Italy after being together for six years.
