Deepak Chahar snatched India’s victory with his brilliant innings in the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Chahar, who was the man of the match, said that it was a dream to play such innings. “The only thing going through my mind is that when you start playing cricket and play for India you dream like this. There can be no better way for the country to win matches than this.”
“Rahul sir told me to play all the balls. I have played a few innings for India A and he has faith in me. He told me that he thinks I can be number 7.
“We have a great batting line-up and hopefully I will not get a chance to bat in the next matches. This is my first time in such a situation. We were playing ball by ball and when it came down to 50 I decided to hit the boundary and after that (on Sandakan’s ball) the six gave me momentum.
Chahar was the man of the match, he also took some wickets.
“A few drop catches… it was hot there and then we did well and I got two wickets. In the end we restricted them to 270 which is a good score.”
