In order to expedite their work, the new Punjab government has issued an order to all officers and employees to register their attendance in the offices at 9 am and has made it clear that investigation can be done in the departments at any time.

In a letter issued by the Personnel Department from the state to department heads, division commissioners, deputy commissioners and SDMs, it has been said that all the officers and employees of the state should attend their offices at 9 in the morning and remain present till office hours in the evening. Along with this, all the Managing Secretaries and Heads of Departments have also been instructed to do surprise checks of the attendance of the employees and officers working under them at least twice a week. Along with this, also inspect the ongoing work and records in the institutions under your control.

The government has also made the managing secretaries responsible for getting the instructions from the heads of directorates, boards and corporations under them to be followed. Similarly, the Commissioners of Divisions in the field, Deputy Commissioners and Heads of various Departments will be responsible for checking the staff of Heads of Offices under their jurisdiction. It has also been ordered by the government that transparency should be brought in the office work and action should be taken to deal with the grievances of the people in a transparent manner on priority basis.
