However, his character suffers a setback during the course of the film. This demanded her character to undergo a major physical transformation, which required the actress to sit together for hours while the prosthetics team worked to transform her look.
Talking about the experience, Debina said, “As an actor, you are used to sitting in a makeup chair for hours. But Bijoya’s role was different, the end result tearing me down, how emotionally exhausting it is. Was about to.”
She also said that although on the periphery, the experience made her realize how difficult things are for people suffering from such ailments.
“It really feels like this for everyone who suffers from illnesses. It was just the makeup and gear, and my mind and body found it so challenging to go through, so imagine the people who are really suffering. Made me realize that life is very fragile and we should never take it lightly.”
‘Shubho Bijoya’ released last week on OTT platform Big Bang and since then it has received tremendous love from fans across the board. The film, directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, brings the real-life duo Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina together on screen as a couple after 11 years, a reason that makes ‘Shubho Bijoya’ a special film that piqued the interest of the audience. .
