Greater Noida: One person was arrested and a minor was taken into custody in connection with the death of a 15-year-old boy who went missing from his house in Rabupura on Friday. The child’s body was found the next day in a canal in Aligarh. Mudit Bhati was a student of class 10th.
Police said the boy had gone to bathe in the canal along with two of his friends. It is suspected that both tried to save her.
The police said that when they could not, they threw Mudit’s motorcycle and clothes into the canal so that it could turn into an accident.
According to Mudit’s family, he had left the house on a motorcycle on Friday afternoon. “When he did not return till evening, people started looking for him. Later a missing complaint was lodged at Rabupura police station.

“We were shocked to see the image. There were some injury marks on the body and it was found about 25 km away from our house. Two of Mudit’s friends told us that he had offered them a lift on his motorcycle to a field near our house. When his friends had stopped there to take a bath, Mudit had left.

“The postmortem report states that the boy had drowned. We have questioned Mudit’s friends Lokesh Kumar (22) and the 16-year-old boy who was taken into custody. He said that Mudit was with him but he drowned. It seems that both got scared and threw Mudit’s clothes and motorcycle in the canal. He did not inform his family members or the police about the incident,” he said.
Mudit’s two-wheeler has been found in the canal. “We have registered a case under IPC section 201 (disappearance of evidence of offence). Lokesh was produced in the court and sent to judicial custody. The minor has been sent to juvenile home,” Pandey said.
