After the meeting, Khattar said that the problems faced by the industrial units in the area were taken up in the meeting, where he said that their building plans are not being approved as the area comes under a residential area.
Then it was decided that DTCP would allot a separate area for them. “In the development plan, one part will be for industries and the other part will be for residential purposes. After separating the industrial area, industrial construction plans will also be approved in that area.
Pawan Kumar Jindal, president of the industrial association of the area, said that the units are working there since 1966. At present, 266 industrial units are operational. “Till 2016, industrial building plans were being approved by the city council and MCG. After that, MCG stopped giving approvals,” he said.
In the meeting, senior city planner Sanjeev Mann said that in the development plan in 1994, the area was kept under residential area and only the Urban Local Bodies Department can give approval in residential areas, due to which the approval was stopped.
The issue of installation of illegal gates in the streets of HSVP sectors was also raised in the meeting.
The CM directed that such gates should be installed only after the approval of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner.
He said that the HSVP already has a policy to install gates in sectors and has directed the police to ensure that the rules are strictly followed.
Rules will be made to install gates in colonies also. The gates will be installed only after the approval of the panel headed by the Deputy Commissioner, which will include representatives of police and RWAs.
