According to police sources, the name of the accused mother is Lovely Singh. Lovely was admitted to a nursing home in Ekbalpur on 16 October due to labor pains. The next evening Lovely gave birth to a daughter. The child was very healthy from birth. Last Wednesday morning the nanny saw the child lying on the bed in a frozen state. She immediately informed the nursing home authorities. Doctors told that the child died of suffocation. The police reached the nursing home and started questioning the parents of the child.
After several hours of interrogation, the police arrested the child’s mother Lovely Singh. The police had suspected the mother of the child from the very beginning. After questioning, the police came to know that Lovely killed the newborn because she was born a girl. The police is also interrogating the child’s father Ajay Singh. Police are probing whether he had any role in the murder. Lovely and Ajay were in the same cabin on the day of the incident.
