Daughter of pharmacist killed in Srinagar says Act has opened doors of hell for terrorists

Srinagar: A day after pharmacist Makhan Lal Bindru was shot dead by unidentified terrorists at Bindru Medicate’s shop in Srinagar, Simriddi Bindu emerged strong to death and targeted the terrorists, saying that his father may have died but his soul will always be there. Will be alive

“He was a wonderful man who served Kashmir and Kashmiriyat. His body is gone but his soul is still alive. The person responsible for the crime has opened the doors of hell for himself,” said Simriddi.

Hitting out at terrorist Simriddi, he said, “A person, who has given his whole life for the betterment of the state and its people, had to face such a death. This cannot be a fight against Kashmir because you have killed someone who was serving Kashmir and the people. Everyone has to die one day, but ask your consciousness if it is right and in the end you are accountable to that one person.”

The 68-year-old pharmacist was taken to a hospital after the attack, but he succumbed to his injuries. He was a renowned chemist in the field, operating his own pharmacy in Srinagar for several decades and was recognized for his philanthropic work.

Bindru, a Kashmir Pandit, was among the few in his community who did not migrate after the start of the insurgency in 1990. The pharmacist continued to serve the state and its people through his pharmacy, Bindu Medicate.

Besides Bindru, a street vendor named Virendra Paswan from Bihar’s Bhagalpur district also died in Srinagar. He died on the spot and his body was recovered by the police.

The terrorists also killed a civilian in Bandipora district, police said. Political leaders condemned the horrific killings in the state. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah called Bindu a ‘compassionate’ who never gave up despite the escalation of militancy in the Valley.
