Daniel Craig Tests Positive for COVID-19, ‘Macbeth’ Show Canceled on Broadway

Daniel Craig is among the members of a Broadway production of “Macbeth” who has tested positive for COVID-19, following which the show’s run has been canceled until April 7. According to the Hollywood Reporter, positive diagnostic results were detected among the company. Saturday.

“Macbeth” began previews on March 29 and will officially open for a 15-week limited engagement on April 28 at the Longacre Theatre, New York. This adaptation of the classic Shakespearean play is directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gould. Former Bond actor Craig stars in his Broadway debut in the play alongside Oscar-nominee Ruth Negga.

Philip James Brannon, Grantham Coleman, Asia Kate Dillon, Maria Dizzia, Amber Grey, Emeca Guindo, Paul Lazar, Bobby Mackenzie, Michael Patrick Thornton and Danny Wollohan are also part of the cast. The ensemble cast is rounded out by Che Ayende, Ebony Flower and Peter Smith, with Stevie Ray Dallimore serving as standby for Craig.
