daltonganj: Palamu Clinic Sealed For Malpractice | Ranchi News – Times of India

Daltonganj: Palamu district administration on Saturday sealed a private clinic run by a government doctor named Hari Om Prasad in Daltonganj on charges of diverting patients from the government hospital to his clinic for monetary gains through touts.
deputy commissioner Shashi Ranjan on Sunday said the administration will not renew the registration of this clinic under the Clinical Establishment Act any more.
He said that they will send a detailed report to the state health department for action against Prasad.
He said that a patient identified as Prince Kumar came to the orthopedic outpatient department at the Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in Daltonganj with right thigh bone fracture. He had OPD ticket too. But the patient and his attendants were misguided by the doctor and touts operating in the hospital not to get admitted as indoor patient in the MMCH,
“The patient and his attendants were convinced by the touts operating at MMCH that he may lose his leg if he gets admitted here. Then, he was diverted to the clinic run by Prasad. The touts and the doctor concerned were working hand-in glove,” said DC.
The attendants of the patient told the administration that they had Ayushman Bharat Yojna card with them despite which the patient was deliberately disallowed to be an indoor patient in the MMCH Daltonganj. The DC said that he got a tweet about the malpractice following which they swung into action.
