Similarly, Madikeri town in Kodagu district has reported 116 cases in the last one week, and has figured in the list of most affected urban areas.
Dakshina Kannada has also done well when it comes to controlling the spread of the disease in villages. According to Karnataka’s latest Covid-19 positive analysis, the number of most affected villages in Dakshina Kannada has come down from 10 in the list of top 20 rural areas to five.
Dakshina Kannada district nodal officer for COVID-19 Dr Ashok H told TOI that the health department led by DHO Dr Kishore Kumar M is monitoring all the areas where cases have been reported. “The district is currently witnessing a sharp drop in the number of cases with the positivity rate below 4%.
