Daily Kovid cases in Delhi will further reduce, 100% eligible population vaccinated with first dose

New Delhi: The active caseload of COVID-19 in Delhi is expected to bring some respite as only 14,000 to 15,000 new COVID cases are expected in the national capital today.

Further, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said that around 2.85 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been given in Delhi, with 100 per cent of the eligible population getting both the doses for the first time and 80 per cent.

Delhi recorded 18,286 cases of Covid-19 on Sunday with a positivity rate of 27.87 per cent, which was lower than Saturday which was 30.64 per cent. The number of deaths reported on Sunday was also lower, with 28 people succumbing to the infection compared to 30 on Saturday.

Jain also responded to the allegation raised by Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij that the Covid-19 cases in three districts of Haryana adjoining Delhi were high due to the “unchecked” rise in the national capital. Vij had said, ‘Haryana has been adversely affected due to its proximity to Delhi.

Jain termed the allegation a “political conversation” and said, “I can also tell how many Haryana people are testing positive in Delhi. Over 1,000 COVID-19 cases every day from outside Delhi.” are coming to the fore.”

On Sunday, the Health Minister said that the Delhi government is conducting Kovid-19 testing three times more than the requirement of the Indian Council for Medical Research.
