In the wake of Cyclone Jawad developing a low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal, the Odisha government on Thursday evening issued guidelines to prevent its adverse effects. Odisha government plans to deploy 266 teams including NDRF, State Fire Service and Odisha Disaster Rapid Response Force (ODRAF) in coastal districts in view of the impending cyclonic situation, informs Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena . Giving information about the preparations for Cyclone ‘Jawad’, Jena said, “The state government is well prepared to deal with the emerging situation and 14 coastal districts have been put on alert and in view of the impending cyclonic storm, all Have been asked to take necessary steps.”
