Custody of Satyendra Jain extended till June 13: Health deteriorated after hearing the court’s decision, Ram Manohar Lohia admitted to hospital

The custody of Delhi government minister Satyendar Jain in the money laundering case has been extended till June 13. The court gave this information on Thursday. After which Jain’s custody was extended for four days. While leaving the court, Jain’s health suddenly deteriorated, after which he was taken to RML Hospital in Delhi. The ED had sought extension of Jain’s custody from the court, after which Special Judge Geetanjali Goel extended the date till June 13.

ED name was demanded from the court
ED’s ASG SV Raju told the court that while Jain was in custody, the ED had conducted searches at several places, where some incriminating items including cash and documents were found. For this Jain has to be questioned.

Jain’s lawyer raised objection
On the other hand, Jain’s lawyer Kapil Sibal opposed the ED’s demand, saying that Jain is already in custody and there is no ground to extend his custody further.

ED’s SPP Special Public Prosecutor NK Matta told the court that the accused was arrested in a money laundering case. He was detained under criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

ED had raided 7 locations
ED has raided the place of minister Satyendra Jain’s close friend. Cash of Rs 2.82 crore and 133 gold coins were recovered in the raids. Their weight is 1.80 kg. On June 6, the ED raided seven locations of Satyendar Jain and his associates in Delhi Gurugram. This cash and gold were found in the raids which lasted from 7 am till late night. Jain was arrested by the ED recently, he is in custody till June 9.
