  1. The Gujarat government on Friday imposed night curfew in 17 more cities with high positivity rates, while in 10 cities it was extended till January 29. The night curfew, which will be in force from 10 pm to 6 am, was announced in 17 cities. Recently for the first time by the state government, while 10 major cities of the state already have such restrictions.
  2. At present, night curfew is in force in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, Anand and Nadiad. The cities that have been added to this list are Surendranagar, Dhrangradhara, Morbi, Wankaner, Dhoraji, Gondal, Jetpur, Kalawar, Godhra, Vijalpur (Navsari), Navsari, Bilimora, Vyrav, Vyapar, Bharuch and Ankleshwar.
  3. Information about strict enforcement of night curfew in 17 additional cities has been given to police officers including SP and Range IG through video conferencing. State Director General of Police Ashish Bhatia told reporters that he has been asked to implement it with officer-oriented policing with a humane approach involving local police, home guards and GRD (Gram Rakshak Dal).
