CTET 2022 Notification Soon: From Exam Pattern to Passing Marks, Key Things to Know Before Apply

CTET Notification 2022: Csecondary secondary board education (CBSE) will release Central Teacher Eligibility Test or CTET 2022 Notification soon for July attempt. The application form is also likely to be released along with the notification. Once released, interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply for CTET at ctet.nic.in.

CTET is conducted twice a year and consists of two papers. To become a teacher of class 1 to 5, one has to appear in paper 1 and to become a teacher of class 6 to 8 one has to appear in paper 2. The CTET score is now valid for a lifetime. Earlier it was valid only for seven years. The exam is conducted in 20 languages ​​including Hindi and English.

Before the release of CTET notification, here are the important things that you should know –

eligibility criteria: The first thing to know is if you are eligible to apply for the exam. To be eligible to apply for CTET 2022, candidates must have passed class 12 with a minimum of 50 per cent marks. They must also have passed or appearing in the final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BELED). To teach classes 6 to 9, candidates must have passed graduation with two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or one-year B.Ed. or four-year B.Ed.

pass marks: How to know if your attempt was good? How many marks should I aim for? Unreserved category candidates need to score at least 60 per cent marks to qualify CTET 2022, while SC, ST and OBC candidates will have to score at least 55 per cent marks. Candidates should note that mere passing of the exam does not guarantee direct recruitment. They have to apply to the schools after passing the exam and follow the subsequent procedures to be implemented by the institutes.

Exam Pattern: The exam consists of two papers – I and II, From 2021 onwards, the CTET exam has become online. Even though there were glitches in online CTET earlier, it is likely to continue like this. The academic pattern will remain the same in online mode, with Paper I for those who want to teach classes 1 to 5. This exam will consist of 30 MCQs each from Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I & II, Mathematics & Environment. studies.

Paper II is for those aspiring to teach senior classes. The question paper will have 30 MCQs each from Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I & II and 60 MCQs from Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/ Science. The total number of MCQs for each paper is 150. For language papers, candidates have to select two different languages.

Where is CTET score applicable?: This score is applicable to KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools run by the Central Government and schools run by the National Union Territories of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and National Union Territories. Capital Territory of Delhi. Candidates can also apply in unaided private schools.

In CTET 2021, The exam was conducted in two sessions – January and December, In the first session, 1.47 lakh candidates out of 4.14 lakh qualified in Paper 1. In Paper II, over 11 lakh candidates had registered for the exam, of which only 2.29 lakh passed. Meanwhile, in the December attempt, 27.73 lakh appeared for the exam, out of which 4,45,467 candidates cleared Paper I and 2,20,069 cleared Paper II.
