CSK Team Preview IPL 2022: Being one of the most successful franchises, four-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings would look to produce yet another memorable show in the next edition of the Indian Premier League. With the addition of two new teams to the tournament, the defending champions have an uphill task to defend their title. CSK have been the most consistent side in the history of the tournament and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be looking to add another trophy to the cabinet at the age of 40. As expected, CSK backed their former players and managed to bring them back in the auction. Deepak Chahar, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu and Dwayne Bravo. However, they had to drop the experienced Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis along with all-rounder Shardul Thakur.

Strength

CSK will once again rely on their tried-and-tested formula of ‘Daddy’s Army’. The franchise has managed to get back its core from the last season and is going to rely on them a lot. Their biggest strength will be the batting line-up which will start with last season’s Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad followed by some experienced names like Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. The four-time champion has added some much-needed firepower with the contracts of Shivam Dube, Devon Conway and Chris Jordan. The Yellow Army knows how to handle pressure and how to handle its nerves in a crisis situation.
