The Indian team reached Ahmedabad on Monday for the last match of the New Zealand series. The team members were accorded a traditional welcome at the hotel. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan tried to pull off Prithvi Shaw’s cap but the ploy failed as the latter resisted while being welcomed by the hotel official.

Although India registered a six-wicket win over New Zealand in the second T20I, skipper Hardik Pandya criticized the spin-dominated pitch, calling it a shocker of wickets and not suitable for T20 cricket.

Chasing a small total on a challenging pitch, India were also in trouble being reduced to 50/3 in 10.4 overs but Suryakumar Yadav once again showed his mettle.
Yadav played a crucial innings (26 not out off 31), shared crucial partnerships with Washington Sundar (10) and Hardik Pandya (15 not out), and eventually hit the winning boundary for India in the final over.
“To be honest, it was a blow of a wicket. All the matches we have played so far. I don’t mind difficult wickets. I am all set for it, but both these wickets are not made for T20s. Somewhere the curator or the ground where we are going to play should ensure that they prepare the pitch well in advance,” Hardik Pandya said at the post-match presentation.
