CPM supports TRS in Munugode byelection | Hyderabad News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will receive support from the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) in the upcoming byelection to the Munugode assembly seat.
CPM state secretary Veerabhadram said that his party debated the idea of running in the elections in coalition with the Communist Party of India (CPI) but ultimately decided to lend support to the TRS in order to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
According to him, the CPI-M supported chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao‘s opposition to the BJP.
According to Veerabhadram, Union home minister Amit Shah said the TRS government would be overthrown in a month if the BJP won the Munugode seat.
He questioned the BJP on how it could overthrow a government with an absolute majority.
He did, however, make it clear that the Munugode byelection was the only reason the CPM decided to support TRS.
CPM’s support will be limited only to bypoll.
