Uttar Pradesh will soon be home to over 15 crore people who have been fully vaccinated. This will be another milestone as Uttar Pradesh is conducting one of the most successful vaccination campaigns in the country since the launch of the massive vaccination campaign.

According to the official spokesperson, Uttar Pradesh has given a total of 32.70 crore vaccine doses so far. Of these, over 17,41,06,125 are first dose, while over 14,92,89,434 persons have been fully vaccinated. So far, more than 2,44,29,882 vaccine doses have been administered to children in the age group of 15-17 years in the state and more than 97,90,992 doses have been given to children in the age group of 12-14.

In percentage terms, over 92 percent of the adult population has been fully vaccinated and 100 percent have received a vaccine. More than 97 percent of children aged 15-17 have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Whereas in this age group more than 76 percent are fully vaccinated. Uttar Pradesh started giving booster shots (precautionary doses) on 10 January. More than 31.20 lakh ‘precautionary doses’ have been given in the state so far.

To intensify the vaccination drive of children in the state, Yogi Adityanath has also asked the concerned officials to ensure adequate availability of vaccine doses and encourage eligible children to take up the vaccine cover. The government is also paying special attention to the provision of booster shots (precautionary doses) to the eligible beneficiaries.

Aggressive vaccination, along with adherence to coronavirus-appropriate behavior, is an integral part of the UP government’s comprehensive strategy to contain the pandemic.
