COVID Updates: India’s daily Covid cases below 2 lakh, over 1000 deaths reported

New Delhi: India recorded 1,67,059 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 1,192 deaths and 2,54,076 recoveries. The current caseload stands at 17,43,059 cases. The daily positivity rate has come down to 11.69 per cent. At the same time, the mortality rate is 1.2 percent.

While Kerala reported 42,154 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, Maharashtra has seen a decline in cases. Maharashtra recorded 15,140 fresh Covid cases with 39 deaths. Simultaneously 91 Fresh omicron Cases were also registered.

Delhi recorded 2,779 new Covid-19 cases with 38 deaths. According to news agency PTI, the positivity rate in Delhi is 6.20 percent.

In view of the decline in daily new cases, the Delhi government has relaxed the COVID-19 restrictions in some areas. Night curfew has been lifted and weekly markets have also been allowed.

The Maharashtra government also issued a notification on Monday, lifting the restrictions related to Kovid-19. As per the new Maharashtra guidelines, districts with 90 percent partially vaccinated population and 70 fully vaccinated population can be opened at 50 percent capacity.

New guidelines issued on Monday allow spas, beaches, parks and parks to reopen, including national parks and safaris, to reopen tourist destinations. The timings of these locations will be decided by the local authorities, however, the spa capacity has been capped at 50 per cent.

While funerals no longer have a capacity limit, marriages can be performed with 25 percent or 200 guests, whichever is less. The list of districts falling in the reopening category will be revised every week with respect to the statistics of vaccination.
