COVID Updates: India’s active caseload drops to 25,106, check new infections and recovery rate

new Delhi: India has again seen a decline in coronavirus cases as the country recorded 1,549 new infections on Sunday. In the last 24 hours, 31 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.

The active caseload in the country now stands at 25,106 which is 0.06 per cent of the total cases.

India recorded 2,652 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 4,24,67,774. India’s recovery rate is now 98.74%.

The country’s daily positivity rate has come down to 0.40% and the total vaccination coverage has reached 1,81,24,97,303.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra reported 113 COVID-19 cases and one fatality on Sunday, taking the toll to 78,72,413 and the toll to 1,43,767, a state health department official said.

He said the number of recoveries increased from 283 to 77,23,288, which is 98.11 per cent of the caseload, giving Maharashtra the active count of 1,354.

Data from the state health department showed that the mortality rate stood at 1.82 per cent, while the number of 43,200 samples tested in the last 24 hours stood at 7,89,52,315.

Mumbai reported 27 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 10,57,561, while the death toll remained unchanged at 16,693, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said.

According to a PTI report, 10,37,686 people have recovered from the infection so far, including 44 in the last 24 hours, leaving the metropolis with 298 active cases.

With 16,533 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the number of tests in Mumbai reached 1,64,92,470, shows BMC data.

It also revealed that the city’s recovery rate was 98 per cent, while its caseload doubling time stood at 18,821 days.
