Covid cases today: India reports 1,17,100 fresh coronavirus cases, Omicron tally 3007. Feather

The coronavirus outbreak continues in the country and the numbers have seen an unprecedented rise for the third consecutive day. After seeing around 90K cases on Thursday, the health department reported that India recorded over 1 lakh Covid-19 cases on Friday.

India recorded 1,17,100 fresh COVID cases, while 30,836 were cured, and 302 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate is 7.74%. The active cases in the country are 3,71,363 while the total so far is 3,43,71,845 and the death toll is 4,83,178.

India’s Omron tally reached 3007 on Friday.

With the increasing cases of omicrons around the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the new variant should not be dismissed as mild.

At a one-day all-time high, Mumbai recorded 20,181 new cases of COVID-19 today, taking the total to 8,53,809. With four deaths, the death toll rose to 16,388. Meanwhile, the active caseload stood at 79,260.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said that the positivity rate in Mumbai reached 29.90 percent today. According to a report by news agency ANI, out of the total 67,000 samples tested, 20,181 samples tested positive.

Delhi’s fresh spike of 15,097 cases is highest since May 8, 2021

The national capital on Thursday recorded 15,097 new coronavirus cases with six deaths and 6,900 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The fresh spike of 15,097 cases in Delhi is the highest since May 8, 2021. Meanwhile, the active cases in the city have risen to 31,498. The positivity rate has reached 15.34 percent.
