COVID Cases Today: India Reports 10,273 Fresh Infections, 243 Deaths. Recovery Rate At 98.54%

New Delhi: India on Sunday reported 10,273 fresh COVID-19 cases, 20,439 recoveries, and 243 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The new coronavirus infections, took the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,29,16,117, while the active cases dipped to 1,11,472.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the death toll climbed to 5,13,724 with 243 fresh fatalities.

The daily COVID-19 cases have remained below one lakh for 21 consecutive days.

The active cases comprise 0.26 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is at 98.54 per cent.

The daily positivity rate was recorded as 1.00 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was recorded as 1.26 per cent.

The number of people who have recuperated from COVID-19 increased to 4,22,90,921.

The cumulative vaccine doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive exceeded 177.44 crores.

Coronavirus Cases In Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi

Kerala on Saturday reported 3,262 COVID-19 cases, while the test positivity rate was 7.81 per cent.

A statement by Health Minister Veena George informed that there were 7,339 recoveries, taking the total active cases in the state to 32,980.

The number of COVID deaths on a single day, which went up more than 100, saw nine deaths taking the total death tally 65,161.

On the other hand, Maharashtra on Saturday added 893 COVID-19 cases to its tally, which reached 78,64,516. Eight deaths took the toll to 1,43,695.

The active caseload of the state was 7,811. 761 people were discharged in the past 24 hours, leaving the recovery count at 77.09,015.

The recovery rate was 98.02 per cent and the fatality rate was 1.82 per cent, while the state’s positivity rate, or cases detected per 100 tests, stood at 1.12 per cent.

Meanwhile, Delhi reported 440 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday taking the total number of active cases in the city to 2,063.

The positivity rate is 0.83 per cent. Two people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, the Delhi government said in its health bulletin. S

With 460 more recoveries, the total COVID-19 recoveries in the national capital have gone up to 18,30,872.

Notably, the Delhi government issued an order on Saturday stating that wearing masks for all travelers traveling in a private car in the national capital is no more mandatory. The order will be applicable from Monday.
