Covid cases today: India records 18,166 fresh cases and 214 deaths in 24 hours, see details below

Corona Case Updates: There has been a slight decline in the cases of coronavirus in India. The number of Kovid-19 in the country is continuously declining. India has reported 18,166 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 2,30,971 which is the lowest in 206 days, informed the Union Health Ministry. The total caseload was 3,39,53,475.

214 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. More than 50 percent of the total cases came from Kerala on Friday.

Active cases account for less than 1% of the total cases, currently at 0.71%, the lowest since March 2020. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.96% which is the highest since March 2020.

Death toll: 4,50,589 Vaccinations: 94,70,10,175

In the last 24 hours, 24,963 patients have been cured in the country, taking the total number of people who have recovered to 3,32,71,915.

Kerala

The state of Kerala has not yet released the Covid-19 number for Saturday.

Maharashtra

Maharashtra recorded 2,486 new coronavirus positive cases on Thursday, taking its total infections to 65,75,578, while the death toll of 59 people took the toll to 1,39,470, the health department said.

A total of 2,446 patients recovered and were discharged during the day, taking the number of recoveries to 63,99,464, a statement said.

There are currently 33,011 active cases in the state.

Maharashtra’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.32 per cent, while the death rate stands at 2.12 per cent.

As many as 1,47,320 people were tested during the day, taking the state’s cumulative testing count to 5,97,66,957.

Mumbai city recorded 978 cases and 9 deaths. The city has recorded 12,85,447 cases and 35,344 deaths so far.
