Covid cases in Goa: Less than 100 new covid cases on fourth day, positivity rate in Goa 1.5% Goa News – Times of India

Panaji: The active coronavirus caseload has remained below the 1,000-mark for the eighth day in a row and with 75 new cases, daily infections have remained below the 100-mark for the fourth day in a row.
The positivity rate was 1.54% with 4,860 samples tested.
After zero deaths on Saturday, three people are reported to have died on Sunday.
Thirteen persons were hospitalized and 62 opted for home isolation.
Five were discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours and 85 recovered from Covid-19, with a recovery rate of 97.63%.
South Goa’s weekly (8 to 14 August) positivity rate was 1.92%, which was 1.8% higher than that of North Goa. In South Goa, 70% of the positive cases were picked up through Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT), while in North Goa 58% of the positive cases were through RAT.
Margao, with 80 active cases, has the highest number of active cases in the state, followed by Consaulim with 75, Panaji with 56, Kortalim with 42 and Chimbel and Siolim with 40.
Only Vasco and Mayim have active cases in single digits with eight and three respectively. No center has zero active cases.
