COVID-19 Booster Vaccination: As the risk of a fourth COVID-19 wave rises with ever-increasing daily infections, the Center has announced a free booster dose for all eligible adults in India. The booster dose of COVID will be available to all adults from Friday (July 15). Doses will be available free of charge to all adults for only 75 days from today. Under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, a 75-day free vaccination campaign will be conducted from July 15, in which all citizens above the age of 18 years will be given free vaccination doses at government centers. COVID Booster Vaccination: Eligibility
As per the official announcement by the Union Health Ministry, all the beneficiaries who are 18 years of age or above will be eligible for the booster dose. Under the special campaign of 75 days, people in the age group of 18-59 will get free precautionary dose of COVID vaccine at government immunization centres.

COVID Booster Vaccination: How to Register for ‘Precautionary Dose’ on Coin Portal or using Aarogya Setu
- Open cowin.gov.in or in the Aarogya Setu app, go to the Cowine tab, and tap on the Immunization tab.
- Log in using the mobile number used for the previous vaccination registration. Then enter the OTP. A maximum of 4 people can be registered on the Cowin portal using the same mobile number.
- Those who have not yet been vaccinated must first register themselves and take their first two doses.
- For those who are fully vaccinated and eligible for the precautionary dose, the system will show the slot for the precautionary dose in the appointment module.
- Tap on the ‘Precautionary Dose’ tab and then select Appointment.
- Select an appointment based on your location, pincode etc and tap/click on Book Appointment. The appointment should be confirmed and the details can be downloaded from the app.
