Covid-19: Pune Metropolitan Region tops 1,003 traces of the day as testing nears 28,000 Pune News – Times of India

PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) on Thursday reported 1,003 new Covid cases and nearly half the recoveries (555). The number of deaths due to complications related to Kovid here has come down to single digit (9) in the last 24 hours.
PMC areas added 226 new patients, while Pimpri Chinchwad recorded 193 infections in the last 24 hours. 580 new patients were registered in rural areas.
A report released by District Health Officer Bhagwan Pawar said that 142 patients were cured in PMC limits on Thursday.
A total of 27,877 samples were tested in the region for Covid-19 infection on Thursday, with its sample testing rate above 64.89 lakh.
