According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday, India witnessed a one-day increase of over 3 lakh COVID-19 cases. With 3,17,532 cases, this is the highest single-day number recorded in the last 8 months. India witnessed 491 more deaths due to Covid-19, taking the nationwide toll to 4,87,693. With the fresh cases and deaths, the active caseload in the country rose to 19,24,051.
